“Mar de Signes” is a project promoted by ICATMAR and funded by the Barcelona City Council that aims to expand the marine vocabulary in LSC (Catalan Sign Language), as well as using science as a driving force for inclusion in Barcelona society.
In collaboration with the Binomils expert group, with the support of the Barcelona Aquarium, the Centre de la Platja, the Port Vell de Barcelona, Dortoka and the Associació Dones de la Mar, and with the expertise of the local deaf community, 100 words related to the fields of marine biology and fisheries have been reviewed to develop a linguistic glossary in Catalan ˂> LSC.
